Help ID sail maker please.

Well, I don't feel quite so dumb, at least one other person can't find it either 
The sail definitely isn't dacron, that pic doesn't show construction real well and I might be using the wrong terminology. The sail is made of a net-like material sandwiched between 2 transparent-ish layers of sticky on the inside crinkely material.
Here is a better pic of the construction.
I wish all of it looked like that, the sail is really startingto show it's age and starting to delaminate, if you look at it too hard while tacking it will snag on your gaze.

Its a laminated sail cloth; two layers of Mylar (PET) film sandwiching a mesh of dacron threads. More of a racing sail... its light, and originally held its shape well.
Lofts don't use that material anymore:
1) Dacron is too stretchy to use in thread form. Does OK woven into cloth however.. Strings are now made from carbon, kevlar, spectra, or pentex.
2) Now the weave will not be square, but designed to be much stronger in one direction. The cloth will then be aligned at design-time to align with the loads on the sail. This is the so-called 'load-path' sail making process.
Older sails like that deformed rather quickly, loosing their shape in a season or so.
The current version of that cloth looks like this... Pentex threads aligned for loads West-east. Not as strong North-south but it will be sewn in strips that match that requirement on the sail.

For sure it was a good sail. If you want to repair that area where it hit the spreaders, put some sticky-back on it. Its what a sailmaker would do. We use it on our racing sails from day#1 in the area where the spreader might it it as a wear patch. You can get it from sailrite.It was probably a good sail when it was new but even the PO of my boat doesn't know when that was.

Macken Sails looks like the culprit. Did some searching on the name and found some old post talking about a similar sail.
