That's all pretty and sort of neat (way too many turns around the pins and why aren't the lines coiled on the pins?), but if one is using belaying pins in earnest, there must be a curved hook through the deck that the halyard goes around before it gets to the pinrail. No pinrail is strong enough to hold a halyard under strain on any decent sized boat.How about something more like this![]()
Almost as convenient and a lot more nautical looking. I think I'll do something like this on my cabin bulkhead at the fore of my cockpit.
