LOL I don't think they're even sailing. Who can see why?
For one thing - There’s some kind of funny business going on with the jib sheets. They both looked wrapped around the winches as if the sail is furled. But the angles are weirdly high.

Also based on the tape on the wheel they’re battling 20 degrees of weather helm, in flat seas and without any heel or other signs of commotion?

Nope but close.

Not headsail sheets.

My first thought was Jenny or mainsail halyards, but then I thought, 'for a big Genoa, they could be sheets.'
They most look like 11mm climbing rope, to me.

I'm guessing you are looking at the running backs both being on. The topping lift looks like it is pretty tight as well so probably no main set. Judging by the attire and cooler in the cockpit I doubt they are racing. There does appear to be a bit of an angle, although that could just be from the camera angle, so I'd guess sailing under jib only.

Those are running backstays? What's that cable behind the guy in the purple shirt?

Note the locking wrap around the self-tailing winches. They certainly don't intend to release them quickly.
Oh wait, that's what David said.

The line on the port side looks like it is about the right angle for a running backstay. The starboard one looks like it’s going too far away from the mast. Which is why I thought it was a jib sheet, but maybe that’s just the camera lens. In any case they shouldn’t both be wrapped around the winches like that simultaneously while you’re sailing.

They're not racing for sure. Looks like the sailing instruments on the aft end of the cockpit seats still have covers on and the dinghy outboard is DOWN?

They are for sure checkstays. And you never have both on when sailing. You can see the top of the primary headsail winch just in front of it, and the empty turning block just to the right.

As one who's owned by three cats
Only a person living in a cat household can appreciate the absolute truth of this statement.
Not 3 cats here, just one now. But he is with out a doubt in control. And if you question his authority or try to act as the alpha male, he sneakily waits till you least expect it then sinks his claws into you... Not to maim just to get your attention. :yikes:

John, they've really gotten spoiled and more in control with all my teleworking. There's also a great deal more trust from the beasts!

A temperature monitor of some sort would also help with consistency of the cuts, when excluding the heads and the tails.
