Ferrite Cores on Remote VHF Mic cable.

My new Standard Horizon RAM4 Mic has 2 Ferrite Cores included in the box. They need to be fastened to the cable on both ends of the cable as close to the screw connectors as possible. The instructions say to wrap each with electrical tape to keep them from falling off, as vibration may loosen them. Given where they are finally located , how would you know?
So would you heat shrink them rather than use tape? Tape just seems to dry out and loosen in the heat.

Sounds like a better solution than tape.

A more secure and effective method for ferrites is to wind the cable through and around the core

I consider tape a temporary solution, shrink wrap or what Don says.
