It's here on Long Island.... I buy it from a small engine shop in port Jefferson. I have to say yes it is expensive ($30/gallon). But i do have to say I get great mileage out of the stuff. Fuel consumption in all engines I run the stuff in has improved noticeably. And all start and run like new.
Y'all should buy your non-ethanol gas in Sumter, SC. It's less than $3.00/ gallon for regular but I buy high-test. It's a little over $3.00.

I have a 1996 Chevy K2500 that has run flawlessly for 20 years with nothing more than a couple of bottles of techtron added each year. I have a 2009 Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke that needed a new carb last year. The difference? The Chevy has a sealed fuel system with injectors, the Tohatsu has a vented fuel system and vented carb. I believe Thinwater has found the answer - seal your fuel, and don't leave fuel in a carburetor. I'm too cheap to buy boutique fuel for an outboard.

I pulled a 6-year old carb apart last week just out of curiosity. The bowl was so shiny I could see my reflection. There was nothing to clean.
  • Only e10
  • Never drained the carb... but
  • silica gel vent filter, and
  • Biobor EB.
Otherwise, I would have expected to see some corrosion pitting or at least discoloration in the bottom. Since I switched to Boibor EB about 6 years ago, I've never worked on an engine (4 outboards in regular use). I got regular practice before. I got more serious about moisture at the same time. Thus, my fuel is $2.16 /gallon.
