The cracks around the base of the compression post look bad. That is where I would start.
Yes remove the mast. The damage of the chain plate is what puts the mast at risk of coming down in a stiff wind. The bulkhead needs total replacement.
I am in a bit of a query about the mast step. The flexion (depression of the fiberglass deck) without cracks in the image is not as expected. Perhaps an image of the whole mast base would show more.
Not sure what the board is to the right of the Head doorway.
