Deck step repair

The cracks around the base of the compression post look bad. That is where I would start.

Yes remove the mast. The damage of the chain plate is what puts the mast at risk of coming down in a stiff wind. The bulkhead needs total replacement.

I am in a bit of a query about the mast step. The flexion (depression of the fiberglass deck) without cracks in the image is not as expected. Perhaps an image of the whole mast base would show more.

Not sure what the board is to the right of the Head doorway.

Here is an image of my compression post and the fiberglass pan it sits on.

Hard to see but, there are spider cracks in front and a pretty good crack in the rear.

the base looks like it is cored with wood that has failed and allowed the fiberglass cover to collapse.

Thanks for reply. Kinda my thought, possibly core or something else. Under the deck, it is extremely hard to tell how it's done. Can see cloth, tabbing, that's about it. Gonna try and take a pic below deck tomorrow perhaps. My thought is removing the post and cutting top off extrusion to see what's in there.
