My mast also has the track built in adjacent to the slot for the furler, and it has prompted me to wonder about the implications of this.
I have absolutely no problems with the furler but for racing would like to have the extra sail area and the extra adjustability of a conventional main for both light and heavy conditions. On that front, is the furling mast that much stiffer and would therefore make bending a problem?
For future salability I would really want to leave the furling gear in there I think.
