I just came across this thread a bit late. Take a look at this B352 that's for sale at time start 1:39 and on wards. You'll see that this is originally a furling main but he has standard sail. Interesting.
My mast also has the track built in adjacent to the slot for the furler, and it has prompted me to wonder about the implications of this.
I have absolutely no problems with the furler but for racing would like to have the extra sail area and the extra adjustability of a conventional main for both light and heavy conditions. On that front, is the furling mast that much stiffer and would therefore make bending a problem?
For future salability I would really want to leave the furling gear in there I think.
