haha, good catch! I don't like the way that is wired either, it's temporary. That is the common ground/- terminal. good idea on the terminal block, I have a few leftover and will install one. thanks for the reco!

You can get a shorting bar for a terminal strip, to make it into a ground bus. Looks kind of like a comb.

When we acquired our boat the electronic suite was in need of attention. The radar began giving up the ghost, the AP was also tired and the Data Marine also was problematic. Decided that the radar was the first priority. Research led me to Raymarine. Went with a touch screen e7 MFD. The next season ( last year) was the AP. It communicates with the e7. I can lay in a route by merely touching the screen and then goto. This worked for me. Your needs may be different. Best advice I can give you is to stay in house with ALL your electronics, i.e. all Raymarine, Simrad, Furano etc. I single hand quite a bit and a reliable AP is wonderful..
