Boat will be in a slip, with a Suzuki 2hp, it is not too bad to pull It up after use. But if I upgrade to a 6hp fouur stroke then I'll be more challenging. Anyway to improve the lifting process? Don't want to spend 300 to buy a new one with the handle yet.

You could add a couple of bungies to help with the lifting. Use a block and tackle from the boom when you want a little pulling advantage.

That looks like a mount design that has springs to set it in the up position. The small block (pulley) hanging beneath the mount would be used to pull the motor down. A lightweight motor would be normal. You would want a method to hold (lock) the motor in the down position.
I personally would be very leery of putting a 6hp 4 stroke on that bracket. Said motor will weight 60lbs (long shaft), and being single cylinder 4 stroke, generate significant vibrations. In looking through various outboard brackets, the lighter versions carry restrictions on 4 stroke weights, hp, or ban them altogether. The photo of that mount show me a light weight bracket not capable of supporting the motor you propose. Which makes me wonder how much the mount bolts are backed up inside the transom.
was looking at some brackets on Amazon and ebay, interesting to see most of them specify they're for 2 stroke or 4 stroke. just wonder why that is, why would it matter whether engine is 2 or 4 stroke as long as long as I dont exceed weight limit?

The vibration from a single cylinder 4 stroke firing once every other revolution is not trivial. 2 strokes of 6hp and up tend to be 2 cylinders, both firing twice as often, so vibration is lot less variable. It's the vibration absorption the bracket is capable of as well as the weight.

As a rule 4 strokes weigh considerably more than their 2 stroke brethren . We have a 4 stroke ,2 and a half horse Yamaha . Weighs very little .upgrading to a 6 horse the weigh goes from 24 -30 pounds to sixty at least .
I'd look for a used lift . Lot's to be found for $50.00 or less .

For your boat , depending on where you saila 4-5 horse might do well for you .
