2000 Hunter 380 AC electrical problem

When plugged in to a 30-amp receptacle at our home dock, with a split pigtail for the A and B buses on my 2000 Hunter 380, I get a reverse polarity light on the B bus when I turn on the air conditioning breaker and the main B-bus breaker in the aft lazarette in the cockpit trips. The A-bus stays connected and shows no problem.

Can anyone offer any suggestions about what might be causing the problem. It appeared suddenly after a two-day overnight cruise that was uneventful.

id start by testing the dock power to ensure it isn’t the neutral/ground problem source.

Same set up as my H430.

After 14 year, I had to replace those weaken breakers. Dual Breaker for A&B.

But as @Don S/V ILLusion noted, check from Boat to Dock.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm also going to check the air conditioner cooling water filter to see if that is causing the breaker to trip, though I don't think that will address the reverse polarity issue, unless the way the system identifies reverse polarity is somehow messed up.

How will you start your AC system without power?
No power, no AC cooling water flow.

The first thing to do is eliminate the splitter. Do you get a reverse polarity light with no loads running?
