All my blocks are Garhauer. Wouldn't use anything else. Love their bearing system. I changed mine out as soon as I bought this boat.

I really like the traveller and controls they made for me. The original traveller on the 272 was inconvenient.
I would recommend Garhauer.

You're probably OK.
Most of the big effort on the main sheet come at the last %5 of upwind trim, which most sailors don't do. For optimal upwind performance in moderate breeze racers will take all the twist out of the main. On most boats that requires a 2-speed mainsheet block. On our First 260 it's a 3:1/6:1 and is a bit of work. The 36.7 is 6:1/24:1 and easier. Both low gears are used to get the final foot of sheet trimmed in. Both are end-boom sheeted
