W. T. R. winch, I think you are referring to the windlass.... which is basically a winch used to raise an anchor. The "winch" is typically used to tighten a sheet or halyard. The distinction is only important when you go shopping on line and need to enter the correct search term. For "preparation" I'm guessing you are referring to an anchor roller.
For the windlass, you need to decide if you want an electric windlass or a manual? If you go electric then you have another set of issues that include wiring , switches etc. I'd suggest asking a professional yard to do that install if you go that way.
