Stout's the word this time, but now that it's cooler I'll try to do a lager at some point, too. Are you doing all grain or extract? I don't have room enough to create an all grain set up because my outboard motors are taking up the space.

Doing extract for now, but aim to do all grain soon enough. Currently doing a lot of reading and collecting the necessary equipment to get pretty serious with it. I'd like to get out of the IT industry one day, and try to do something I enjoy a tad more. Any particular recipe you'll be giving a shot soon?
I usually stick with kits rather than picking the ingredients. My own attempts at recipes have not worked out to be very tasty. Not sure where you are, but Listermann's in Cincinnati is a great brewer supply shop. One of my favorite kits came from them, a dark German lager.
I've been buying lately from a little wine and brewer supply shop in Bloomington, IN. They are very supportive so I may give it a try to come up with something on my own again. I'd really like to do a sharp, hoppy pils.

Yah I know some guys that shop Listermanns. To far for me, i'm in Dayton so I use some local brew supply shops around me. I'm not buying anymore kits, I just finished a brewers best red ale. Hope it tastes ok. There are way to many great clone recipes out there, going that route next.
Well, if you're trailer sailing, then you're only 2.5 hours from here, and if you bring the old pop top out to Lake Monroe we'll make sure to keep some homebrew chilled for you.

That doesn't mean the beer won't taste like shit though! LOL
Slowly coming out of my winter slumber! Ordered the running rigging. Just got here yesterday, happy day! Knothead is the man! $230 bucks for everything, quite reasonable, considering some of the prices I was seeing before I placed my order!
It will be interesting to see how your pop top recoring project goes. I have been trying to decide what to do with mine. Thank goodness mine is in a little better shape than yours was.

First I mapped out what was wet by drilling holes in a grid type manner. That gave me the general areas to go after. Then just start cutting and ripping until you get it all out... FUN TIMES!

Oh, and I got something a bit nicer to pull her once I actually finish this boat!
