Thank you!Domestic plumbing fittings are sized according to the ID...marine hose fittings use the OD to fit into hoses, which are are sized according to their ID. 1/8" is quite a bit to stretch a hose....it can cause small tears to develop. I'd return the one you bought at Ace and buy a marine 1.5".

I had no idea that plain ol' plastic thread-barb hose fittings could be impossible to find any more! I spent over an hour trying to find 'em in PVC, any type of plastic...Nobody except Shields even seems to make 'em any more and I could only find two retail sources for those--WM and Jamestown Distributors whose price was 50% higher than WM!
