I just tried it out.
Seems it is fixed at 14.4 volts for charging, which is fine.
The display in the app shows the same input/output endpoints with negative amps while the 'input' battery is charging.
Some nice warnings in the app as well about it being for emergency use, and it has an automatic 15 minute timer.

Thanks for testing this. Out of curiosity, do you have an internet connected GX device? If so, can you activate the reverse charge remotely in VRM?

I wonder what the emergency would be that an owner would need to give the start battery a 15-minute jolt of go juice from the house bank, REMOTELY?

While the Victron engineers are likely working on a switchable continuous bi-directional charge unit, I imagine that this 15-minute software fix is, as they stated, an "Emergency" use item.

This is just the first iteration of bidirectional charging for the current XS units. It’s just software and firmware changes, no new hardware needed. I imagine they wanted to push something to consumers as fast as possible and just labeled it “Emergency“ to distinguish from a constant charger.

As far as the remote feature, if you are an a mooring without a charge source to your start battery, I think it might be useful to hit it with a 15 minute, 14.4V charge every week or so to mitigate any self discharge or parasitic drain.
