Ok, went to trim the extra wood with my router h to is morning, what a disaster.
First the bit wasn’t long enough to do both pieces together (I epoxied them yesterday together), so I figure no problem, I will do one side, flip it and do the rest….. yah didn’t work that way, I had a bit too big of a pass and had a massive tear out in the wood, but chunk went flying
Ok, back to the cutting of new pieces to start again, the is time I routed the pieces before epoxying them together, small tear out, but it will be at the rear of the binnacle, so I will fill with thickened epoxy tomorrow, instead of cutting out the whole inside for the shifter clearance, I just used a hole saw and it is perfect
Now I epoxied both parts together, tomorrow I will go and start filling the tear out and hopefully by the weekend this whole project will be canned
also epoxied the extended bracket near the shifter to strengthen it.
All that before lunch and getting ready for work
