Sailing Uma claims to be able to cruise indefinitely at 2kts with a forklift motor and a large lead acid bank. I'm not sure how much solar they have
But they still carry sails?

Unlimited 24/7 or unlimited during solar producing hours (daylight)? I generally recall they had about 10 hrs endurance at around 3 kts....then have to charge for a few days after that. I'd have to dig through hundreds of hours of video!

I think they have some info listed under the FAQ on their website

That was years ago. Until they headed north and wintered over in Norway they didn't even have a gas generator aboard. They are currently doing a complete rebuild from the hull up and installing 2 Oceanvolt electric drive units and a huge amount of LFP at 48v. It has been an interesting rebuild of an old boat.

I had MacGregor 26c and previous owner sealed the water ballast lower foot of boat and cut inside dwck and installed hatch to put gravel. Used it as sailboat in Florida. I took to Mississippi river and removed gravel by hand and with mast up but mostly down motored the river. Never tipped. ... My Hunter 260 is nicer with mast down. The old MacGregor 26X was often motored by yuppies for decade with water ballast out and mast up till once it flipped and factory modified future boats with 150 lead to avoid future flips. . . . . A sail in wind is 1000s of pounds of tipping force, without that a keel seems not needed. . . . Try it and see if tippy . . . . I admit solar stuff up high adds tipping forces . . But half a keel seems plenty if no sail and no 500 pound mast. .. . Just my guesses.. D

Steering will likely be difficult and sloppy. Similar to sailing or motoring without a daggerboard or centerboard
