Fluxgate compass

I found my Fluxgate Compass tucked back under the sole in a cranny of the bilge. A Leprechaun must have installed it. The Admiral found it by going half way into the bilge and feeling around with her hand. We had to use a mirror to verify it. Unfortunately I didn't see any metal objects within 3' of it. So now my drunk AP is still not sober.
Any ideas on how to get it from losing its mind while sailing?

That is not a full test.
You may have interference from a bad Bilge Pump, cutting on and off [example only].

Mine goes crazy when passing under a big bridge [Huge Rebar]

Also Fluxgate modules go bad too.

The design of the Fluxgate compass is legendary, much like the Flux Compactor

They have been surpassed by the newer sensors...

Good installation advice. I have no idea where mine is or how it was installed. I need to know now. I really don't 'navigate' on our reservoir though.

Look in the dead space under the bose 321. There is an access panel inside the forward hanging locker. That is where mine is. 4 small screws.
