Not sure this has been mentioned here, but another example of why a OB motor on a sailboat longer than 25 feet is inconvenient at best and dangerous at worst. The value of being able to easily start a diesel and have it idling, ready to apply useful power at a moments notice cannot be overstated.

We use to have a 16' sailboat with a volvo diesel built into the bilge. They are reliable.
Big ones use to use gasoline motors as pony motors to start them.
It's only an assumption, one my part, that they don't still do that.

Until it isn't, if I am not mistaken, manufacturers have moved away from cored hulls below the water line as it proved to be a failure shortening the life of the hull.
Oh, no doubt, for me this would be a One-and-Done deal. I survived, walked away and I'm selling the boat to whomever wants to deal with the million and one cracks/dings in the hull skin.

Yep. True advantage usually. Especially with a pull start/or neglected or finicky motor.
Although the Honda 9.9 Power Thrust is electric start primary. Pull start secondary. Side note: cool feature as it can be started with dead batt, and has 12 amp alt.
My Honda was actually much faster to start than my diesel, as I didn't have to warm the plugs or even turn on the ignition. Just push the button and go.
...Provided the motor is down. Which comes back to your point some. Still, putting the motor down is quick. And in the video, he had it down already. Maybe he froze at the sight of the looming breakwater.
Someone said he posted in another forum. Maybe we can get him over here to explain. Could be some learning in there for everyone.

Jackdaw is rite. A cored hull usually is not as durable as a solid glass hull. Delamination of the glass skins from the core material, a rip or penetration of a sharp object ( thin outer skin) are only a couple of the reasons.
Also don't be so tuff on the rescue swimmers. They are skilled and train to get where they need to as quickly as possible and a PFD would not be in order. Of course there are risks
