I think what Doug J meant is:

instead of going the "private" route. I think...
Yep, that's what I meant! You know what they say if one person has a question there is likely someone else with the same question. Instead of providing an answer privately, why not answer it on this forum for all to see and potentially learn from.
That's one of the benefits of a forum like this.

It has always been my policy to report back following conclusion. In addition there are times private information that is divulged but my strict policy is never share that over the forum plus I erase that info. Folks appreciate that

Doug J;
To answer an often asked question, I try to talk with the individual to see what is going on or getting more information as I know what to ask generally trying to get what happened. I found it helps me to get to the specific cause for a failure or what it is much faster. If you will note, that in some responses here, I try to get help from others to include you if it is general. The above is just one case and there are many who come to me privately for advice vs. the forum. However if there is a question asked on this forum and I am able to help and get the problem resolved, I always report back on the forum. Then there are many times I am traveling to help work on boats at no charge except for out of pocket expenses. Two fellows I help is Kermit and Rgranger. There are others that they too do not know about. I do this to give back to the sailing community. I spend a lot of time on the computer, phone, traveling, actual repairing and so on which takes a part of my life. So time is precious. I think you will know understand hopefully.

Any tips for sailing out of PP? I have only sailed a beach launched Hobie. Anywhere to anchor? I'm hoping to have my boat ready to go there in September or October

You can launch yourself at the public"ramp" (actually a small beach) that's on the South side of the harbor as you enter from the bay. Right across from the Navy yard.
Or Safe Marina will launch and retrieve you with their tractor for about 23 American, plus a li'l tip. Parking extra.
Plenty of anchorages, but none very well protected. Have a working depth gauge for the huge tidal swings.
