We are now well into September and my canisters are still lighting....filled onee in April....filled again in early August....never did actually quit working....now that I think about it...I probably over fill them a bit.....does not affect the flame one iotta....they will burn well beyond 30 minutes....more like 2 hours.....we can cook Canadian bacon, hash browns, eggs and sauce and make egg's benedict for 11 or 12 people ...then use again the next weekend without re-filling....I'm impressed by the
Origo system....so I my wife.....I've never had a canister go out when being used....

You should not overfill them as the alcohol can overflow and cause a flareup. Fill them according to the manufacturers directions and you will be fine.

By the way: you should be getting more than 2 hours out of a canister. Are you placing a rubber gasket over the canisters when you are not using the stove? If not, then you are losing a good deal of your fuel to evaporation.

Alan, I never over fill them visibly...always can see inside the canisters...probably 1/2 cup more than the minimum...I really think they are good stoves....we do use the rubber gaskets on the canisters....I have to remind my wife to remove the gaskets.

I'm gonna try to take some pics tomorrow with my I pad. The cameras were a bust.
