Here is a sad but true story...I'll make it short and not so sweet......many years ago our first sizeable sailboat was a Catalina 22
we purchased in Tulsa.....we were very excited. Got it back to Wichita and took it to the lake for it's first weekend on
Cheney Res. We ordered the 22 with a porti-potty...seemed easy enough to use.....first night out, I had to go to the bathroom sometime in the night and of course used the porta potty...All seems well... At the end of it's first weekend, I knew I need to empty the potty....so, I take the tank out of the boat, put it in the trunk and take it home to empty it.....I had bought the correct
paper and the chemicals in Tulsa...so thought that was it.....We live in a cute little area of Wichita, known as College Hill, and
I get the porti potty out of the trunk, go get my wife to watch me empty it in the gutter in front of the house...and I begin pouring...so proud of myself....all of a sudden, I see little things coming out and a bunch of toilet paper all in the gutter...nothing was dissolved!!!! My only recourse was to get the garden hose and begin shooting the little gifts I'd given to myself down toward the corner with the water hose & spray nozzle....the total trip was about 250 feet ....there was more water and sewage in the gutter than you can believe....took about 25 minutes to get all the sludge/and everything to the corner - still
shooting water from my sidewalk and finally it turns the corner and heads west on a main Wichita through fare....I continued shooting hoping it would head down the hill to the catch basin, (about 3 blocks) then went quietly into the house....still excited that I bought the porta potty. ...I could go on, but you get the picture.....Sorry to bore you with my story....the toilet paper question started this. I apologize. Pat
