Phil, when I go to SBO.com, Forums, New Posts, I usually come up with 'old style' which I prefer. However, occasionally I get this message: aThere was a write error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's marine?', 18)' at line 1] Any thoughts? Not really a problem but, I still prefer 'old style'. This may have been addressed already, I just haven't gone through all the threads. Thanks.

Thanks, Phil.

I just got what Roland did, thought it was a temporary thing, 'cuz I left and came back and that error disappeared and I was back in.

OK, just went through the sequence again: SBO.com, Forums, New Posts. Got back to 'old style'. Must be an intermittent glitch.

Thanks guys. And thanks, Roland, for including the error message! That makes these fixes much faster. Should be good to go now but if you see any more errors on that page please let me know.

I really like the new site. Great work. And it works quite well on my iPhone 5s. But I do have one suggestion that I think would improve things just a bit. It has to do with marking all the forums read.

This is a function that I select every single time I go to the site, at the end of my browsing through the new posts. I think two things would make this more convenient: (1) Locate the link for "Mark Forums Read" at a fixed place on the screen (ideally prominently located, perhaps on both top and bottom of the screen?) regardless of where you happen to be at the time. As it is, the location of this link varies depending on what screen you are looking at. (2) Set up this link so that it requires a single click to mark all forums read, without requiring a second click to confirm. Perhaps that could be something that users could select under preferences?

UPDATE: I just noticed something regarding point #1. I think the issue is that the "Mark Forums Read" function requires me to select the "ellipsis" link to show the options that cannot fit on the iPhone screen. I hadn't observed this link before. So presumably if I had a bigger screen the "Mark Forums Read" function would always be at the top of the screen? At any rate, as this is one the most commonly selected links--for me, at least--perhaps moving it to a fixed place on the screen that always displays would be desirable?

Thanks Alan, that's a great idea! Yes, the "Mark Forums Read" function is always at the top of the screen, when it fits. I can certainly add it to another location and the bottom of the screen makes a ton of sense.

EMOTICONS

When the new format started, the emoticon expansion was great.

In the past week, I've noticed that when I reply to a topic and click the emoticon button, only a quarter of the emoticons show up.

Hi Stu, I had a user on Windows 10(?) using the new Edge browser tell me the same thing yesterday.

They're still all good here on Mac OS/Chrome, so I don't believe it's a file permissions issue and I can't see any difference in the files or their locations.

Are you using Edge (which I'm going to rename, "Cliff")?

Well, isn't that interesting. With Firefox 42.0, which it just finished updating this morning, the list is severely impacted. This is on the Pro tower running 10.10.5 which isn't getting updated anytime soon as Parallels v9 won't run on this week's os, and contrary to popular belief, some real work does happen. Sometimes.

Hi Phil, so what is the deal with this "Please read guidelines before posting" business? Did I miss something?

Phil, It doesnt seem like I have the spell check anymore... I thought it was here, but I notice that when I misspell a word, it does not underline it in red like it used to in the old format... do I need to turn something on to get it activated?....
