A/C Corrosion
This IS a good question!I don’t recall ever seeing a Zinc anode on an Air-Conditioning System - nor do I recall seeing much evidence of corrosion, which would have suggested that Zincs should have been installed.I suppose the main reason that Zincs don’t seem to be required on A/C units is that the materials in contact with seawater (Pumps & Condensers) are generally highly resistant to corrosion.ie: The Condensing tubes are often ‘CuNi’ (Cupro-Nickle - or other hi-tech alloys). If metalic (Bronze) thru-hulls and seacocks are utilized, they must be galvanically bonded, which effectively ties them into the (already present) Zincs.OMO,Gord
