My wife and I were on the 18th. green at Pebble Beach watching the ATT Pro Am on a beautiful day and I enjoying some great golf when a sail boat caught my eye and I spent about an hour watching this guy sail. I'm trying to restore a 78 Catalina 22 back to life. Watching this guy sail really got me amped! Yup, I got the bug real bad! Has anything like that happen to any one else?

All the best, Monte
I decided in December 2011 that I'd take sailing lessons; if I liked sailing, I thought I would buy a boat in December 2012.

So... I started taking lessons in January on a Catalina 22, and started crewing on a 35-foot J boat...

Seven weeks later now, I've bought a Catalina 30!

So I guess I got the bug too!

No golfing for me. Like Mark Twain said, "Golf is a beautiful walk spoiled by a dammed white ball."

I got bit by the sailing bug at age 8. I went into remission when I married my first wife. Wife #2 saw my 16' daysailer sleeping under a tarp at my parent's place and said let's fix her up and use her.

Two boats later, we are still spending time at the marina. Sometimes working on the boat, sometimes going out, and sometimes just to spend the night.

So evidently, it's contagious sometimes. :)
