Last March you posted the clever idea of deploying a 2-gal tank of deisel for emergency use if the main tank clogs. You cut off one end of the bulb hose for attaching the end to the Racor filter to bypass the tank. I took your advice but fortunately didn't have to use it. Now at the end of the season I went to pump the 2 gallons into the main tank and it won't work. Is that because I've compromised the airtight system with an open hose at the other end of the bulb? Thanks for anyone's assistance on this basic physics question.
