I have a 1986 Pearson 303 equipped with a Yanmar 2GM20F diesel engine. I am in the process of replacing the impeller and a new gasket. the impeller and gasket seem to be in good shape. I have noticed there is an extreme amout of rust on the pump bracket. The pump does not look as if the water came from a leaking impeller gasket. I am wondering if I need to tear down the the pump completely and replace the water seal ring & bearings. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with the pump and what action did you do?
