Questions about batteries. Like: will a battery go dead if stored on concrete? Can I charge two different-sized batteries in parallel? And so on...

I believe the biggest p*ssing matches come when there is no real answer, or the two choices are equal. For instance, in the case of used boats, the brand-name doesn't really matter nearly as much as how it's been kept, but that will cause PAGES of heated discussion...

................ would leave his transmission in neutral while under sail. Everyone knows that your boat speeds way up when you pop the tranny into gear and lock the prop. Almost got whiplash the last time I did that. :eek:

And what's with people who install mechanical shaft seals when you can get several years of dripless shaft sealing using properly installed teflon impregnated flax packing. :doh:

And don't get me started on dinghys. :cussing:

when someone asks a question re a C-25 and they haven't checked the catalina 25 association website first. at least when stu reads the post first!!! (i think it's stu??)
