Any one do this conversion?
Mine is a Catalina 27 TR
I ordered 4 sheave's that will fit my mast head Californian made boat 5/16" halyard's.
My yard guy said to do the conversion to from external halyards to internal and have extra halyards in case or for topping lift and or spares, ,,,,
My thoughts by just running them external I would have no need to cut into mast base or run more deck hardware, as the main and fore sail winches are on mast and I like it that way no solo sailor here.
Lastly after redoing the entire mast upgraded coax ,electrical wire's, and lots of sponges to keep all so quiet inside mast I know from looking in mast there are lots of screws shot thru for mast hardware and I would hate to fray my new expensive halyard's to failure point and not know it?
Thoughts comments or observations I have a few months before I start this project!
