Has anyone heard of,or installed a drain in the bilge area called a Garboard Drain? I was concidering installing one in my boat to prevent errant water leakage from freezing in the bilge area in the winter. I would like to install this drain myself-any instructions would be helpfull. Thank You in advance! Joe Noack

That's an interesting idea, but I don't understand where you would install this, or how. Doesn't it require a flat surface that drains to the outside of the boat? Ed

Drain Location Responce
My yard manager indicated to me today that installing a drain in the bilge wall area is a common practice. ( A 3/4" bronze flange and threaded plug to boot!)
