Big Project
The archives have a lot of good information. One thing to do first is to diagnose if the leak is occuring between the aluminum frame and the fiberglass or if it between the glass and the gasket. The frame leak is easy to fix, the glass leak is a whole new ball game. For me it was a ball game that lasted into the 25 inning and is still going. I rebedded all of my windows on my 27 last year and resealed the glass with new gaskets from Catalina Direct. I bought their kit. I am a detail guy and spent a lot of time with the project to make it perfect. After rebedding all of the frames and windows on my boat I had 4 of the 6 with leaks. Off they came. I re read everything for the 6th time and did everything again. On they went and I am down to 3 of the 6 leaking. So.....just today I ordered the retro fit window kit from cruisingconcepts.com. Shipping included it was $850. I just wish I would have done this last year and then I wouldn't have had wet cushions all year. I am sure there are plenty of other sailors out there who have been more successful than me, but I happily wrote the check today. Good luck! Steve
