We have a windlass installed on our 11.0a. If you give me your email address I can send you a pic and more info on the modifications. I don't think I know how to send a pic over this site...sorry

I misspoke. The windlass is a Lofrans Tigres. LW400an/1200. Power rating is 1540 lbs. Retrieval speed/minute no load 112 ft/min, at working load 62 ft/min. Weight of unit is 51 lbs, voltage 12 VDC, motor wattage 1200 watt. We also ordered the watertight windlass control box, SPA 10700 and the standard chain wheel for 5/16" high test chain. Also the windlass switchgear kit which is the control box and foot switches. We dealt with IMTRA marine products through Manitowoc Marina in Wisconsin. It came with great detailed specs and wiring diagrams. More info at www.imtra.com. Windlass itself listed for $2600, but we purchased for $1680 plus $60 shipping. And YES the wires were huge. About as big around each as my thumbs, plus. I don't have the exact gauge written down, but we went oversize. We have a 420 amp house bank and when the engine is running, no noticeable drawdown for the brief time the windlass is operational. I still have all the paperwork and specs from 2004 if you need further.Mark Maulden said:Thanks and by the looks of it you did not install a battery forward. Just long (big) wires. Do u know the model #?
Not at all. We also used the cleat as the Sampson post for some pretty rough, multi-day anchorage situations while in the Caribbean, albeit with great ground tackle and a terrific snubber. To this day, in steep Lake MI waves we still have no creaks or evidence of flexing in this boat. I must say though, we weren't sorry to leave the salt water behind and reclaim our everlastingly shiny stainless!Mark Maulden said:Thanks for all the help. One more question.... Do you notice any deck flex when it loads up?
