I am interested in installing a Windlass on my Hunter 340. It was an option on my boat but the company who made the windlass Lawerence Simpson is no longer in business. I am looking for a substitute. I was wondering if the anchor locker hatch had to be cut out for the original windlass. I was wondering if anyone had replaced the old or installed new. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Windlass and model number would also be great. Thanks again.

Does your boat have an anchor locker? If so, take some measurements and call your local chandlery to help you match up with the existing locker. Otherwise, you have a lot of planning and research to do... but it is not an extremely difficult project. Perhaps a picture of what you have now could bring some more qualified responses. good Luck
