Wilcox Crittenden Skipper Type?

I'm helping a friend with a couple of these sort them out. In looking into Skipper heads, I cannot find any info that explains the difference between the various Types (7, 8, etc).

Does anyone know what differentiates them?

Type 7 and 8 refers to the Skipper's pump cylinder size. Imperial was a "Type 4," Junior (smaller version of the Imperial) was a "Type 3."The "Type 8" Skipper is an "improved" version that the replaced the "Type 7" that has a larger 4" diameter pump "with unrestricted passages, eliminating the possibility of clogging..." I have the catalog description, exploded drawings and parts list for both the 7 and 8...Send me an email (EMAIL, not PM)...I'll be glad to send 'em to you.

Rebuild kits are still available directly from Thetford (Thetford bougth W-C about 10 years ago). The only other parts still available are whatever is left of Thetford's inventory or that of any retailer who carried 'em. Only things I can furnish are parts lists and exploded drawings for all W-C toilets even as far back the "Winner" model...and occasionally some free advice.

Can you tell me whether there exists any practical difference between the Part No. 016840 described as "34" Piston lever, etc., in the installation manual for the "Skipper Seaclos Types 7 & 8" and the piston which can be seen in some maintenance parts for the Skipper II?
I don't know what the differences are between the Types 7 & 8 and the Type II, and it is almost impossible to get this piston here in Buenos Aires and the one I have is really worn out (30 years old).

They're identical...even same part # 16840 for both toilets.

I just purchased one of these levers from BargainBoatsParts.com I dealt with a fellow by the name of Chad. He was quite helpful. The piston lever was around $110, expensive but very hard to find...Contact him at 208 650 7200...Best of luck,,,I should have mine in a few days.....

There is also one available at Budget Marine in St Martin,,,the shipping was costly though,,,
