Wifi router

Ok guys, I'm with you on all this stuff and I will have to configure a system to use at Bodega Bay CA. I paid $58 for 2 months of wi-fi over there!
Buy a Bullet, POE, and antenna for hook up to my laptop. Just cut off xformer from POE to hook up to B+, right? Closest WiFi free xmitter is directly across the bay water surface about 2 miles, so, should work, right?

Anybody got any info on the Pico Station? The best I can get out of the limited info on Amazon is its a wireless equivalent to the wire system configuration like I just described, plus wireless router capability included?

Chief, yer on the right track. Yes, the POE is 12v, so it is ship powered. I did that same thing with a wireless router hooked to the CAT5 'out' side of the POE, so then my laptop, phone, the ladies Kindle will all work without the cord.
And 2 miles should be nothing. I hit 'em 5 miles away easily.
