Wave wifi booster

We have had great luck with the rouge wave wifi booster. Usually get 6 times the un amplified signals!

We have a NautiCloud and have used it to pick up WiFi from Maine to Caribbean and Europe. Nice thing about it is that it is both offboard and onboard WiFi networks, its transportable, and draws less than 0.5A at 12 vdc.

Also rugged enough to be used to repel boarders ;)

Take it back and use your money on something that will work. Best solution is a Ubiquity Bullet and a decent antenna. You want a 2HP model. I have tried all sorts of system as i need wifi for work and live on my boat. Most marinas have crappy wifi and the dock masters have no clue about making it better. I use both a bullet and a 5mile transmiter. The bullet is the most cost effective system. it takes a bit to set up but it is not that hard and you can connect it to a wireless router on your boat so all of your devices can use it. On Ebay you should be able to get a bullet and antenna for less than 150. you can get a 50 foot network cable and hoist the system up the mast for those far signals. I have gotten a connection from a beach house when I was out of sight of land!
Definitely choose your Wifi antenna system using the Ubiquiti Bullet as its 'core' reception device.
I travel up and down the US east coast frequently and can when passing populated areas get Wifi as far as 3+ miles offshore. I can often get 'signal' when deep in the swamps of the low country. The increased range will also better to be able to connect with routers that are 'unprotected' by WPA/WEP etc. encryption.

I use a Bitstorm "BadBoy Extreme" antenna system mounted high above my stern rail and mounted to the side of my radome. http://www.bitstorm.com

if you can raise the computer and get a signal then the router will work fine if you mount it "up high" in the cabin. Even better if it has a coax cable type antenna connector. Just mount the router where you want and stick the antenna up on deck.
