I have a widgeon #88 and I am repainting it. It currently has splatter paint on the interior and I'm wondering if it is orginal. I started out just painting it but now I would like to keep it as original as possible. Anyone know? Thanks

Case, I can't answer if the paint is original or not. It was often used as a coating for rough finished fiberglass.
The stuff you would want to get is called Zolatone. It was used in boats, car trunks, campers, and fiberglass horse trailers.
Very durable. Pricey, but tougher than the rattle can stuff they sell now. Auto body supply companies have it. Expect to pay $150 a gallon, or $50 a quart.

My 1969 WIDGEON had a sort-of "rubber-like" tan coating on the inside with white "spattered" dots. Combination of the texture of the coating and the little white dots gave some non-skid effect.
