Another alternative..

I would think that the sheer enjoyment of the expression a boat owner's happiest 2 days are when he buys the boat and again when he finally sells it. If this is the case, does the joy go up exponentially with the length as does the price? I'm not associated with them but here's an alternative to trying to bum a ride from a guy that owns one of those big ships: http://www.starclippers.com/ships_rc.html 439 foot Royal Clipper 227 guests in luxurious style. Sail area: 56,000 Square feet Mast height:197 feet Number of Crew:106 Masts: 5 Masts, 42 Sails

Cheers to Sand Sailor!!

Couldn’t agree more mate! My funky ol’ C27 is free and clear, no debt but a tiny little mortgage. My boat costs little money to run, although a fair bit of sweat equity. I can afford to be a semi-unemployed bum who spends most of his time flyfishin’ & sailin’ and ….well…..being a bum! I do however serve as crew on big racing boats…… WORK IS THE CURSE OF THE SAILING CLASS!!!!!!!!!!!! Later, eh! Ferg

I'm on the same page as synchronicity

Last year my business neighbor approched me to tell me he was selling his Pearson a 36 tricabin that when he bought it I fell in love with it and said if ya ever sell it give me first shot at it,well I sailed it,made arrangements to dock my present 32 O'Day somewhere else, talked to someone about borrowing $ till I sold the 32 and then refinancing the balance and then brought my wife to see it (all along she was on board with whatever I wanted to do)she wasn't so thrilled with it when she pointed out that she loves our boat and its PAID for and for the money you would be spending on a bigger boat is there other boats out there newer and about the same size for the same price OK that was a wakeup call so I past up on the Pearson and thought if I'm going to be making payments it will be for a newer boat or a second home, meawhile I keep on stashing some $ aside and I'm happy and gratful with what I got.
