These blocks were in the bottom of the sail bag with a Genoa I acquired. Where are they used? I've never had these before.

Those are snatch blocks which can serve various purposes. If they were in the genoa bag the PO might have used them to adjust the sheet lead forward or aft. It depends on how your boat is set up but the cheek at the upper part with the sheave can be opened up and put on the sheet while it is already run and the lower part with the shackle can be attached somewhere along the toe rail (again, depending on how your boat is set up).

Yep…the can clip onto the aluminum toe rail just about anywhere.I assumed that was what it was for. That makes sense, the Genoa came from an s2 with aluminum toe rails. My catalina has tracks and cars for the jib sheet blocks.
