What's your favorite boat name?

How about Daydream Believer. Or Daydream. Or if your wife's name is Jean, Sleepy Jean. Don't even try to say you don't know what I'm talking about, Davy.
Kermit, it's always about the animal kingdom with you...isn't it?

That's it! I'm taking the Last Train to Clarkesville. Maybe you can meet me at the station?
Actually, Daydream Believer is a pretty good name!

Cheers
Glad you like it, Davy. And don't forget that "The shaving razor's cold and it stings." (Just a little heads up there.)

In all honesty, it's more about music and humor. Seems like just about everything reminds me of a song. Or something funny. Or a line from a movie.
Please forgive the hijack...just couldn't resist.

Kermit, of course we all get that, and appreciate the enjoyment put forth. I know of what you speak. I found the roots of your upbringing online.

By the way, the Admiral and I have chosen a name for the boat that I'll elaborate on a bit later. The name we've chosen is also founded in music and humor.

Don't make us wait too long....
I won't, still working on the duo-entendre, without incorporating a bilabial fricative. By the way, we're on the hard for the winter, I have time to play again.

Leave out the plosives, too please. A nice looking dipthong is always a treat, though.
I'm still laughing about "Fydolla Ho" (post 72), Cut me a break, ok? Those back woods folks on Orange Lake, Fl, and Lake Wallenpaupack, Pa, are outta control...but a lot of fun.

Ok, after much consideration for the input of this forum, I have finally made a decision of permanency. This is a done deal...and thank you all for any contributions perverse, funny, loving, clever or otherwise.

I really wouldn't want to put my name in the transom graphics, as it may make the boat less saleable when/if that time ever comes. How many Wayne's are out there that want classic sailboats? So Wayne's World is out...but feel free to party on!

Over this last season on Cayuga lake we've made a total of 12 trips. Only 2 of them overnighters with just the Admiral and I. Every other day trip included at least 4 each of family members, friends, or guests who applauded our ability to sail and/or party. Typically, we would not head north from the slip with anything less than 6 souls on board. We SHARED everything, with no reservation, on board with our crew or guests. The only complaint I ever received was the radiance of the SUN on a few really hot days up here in New York. So I added a Bimini, just for those potential melanoma worriers. Regardless, everyone...including my hard working Admiral, were thrilled with our 70's vintage boat, its performance, the loveliness of the large fingelake, and the music we played aboard. The best humor came from the dialogs that were shared within the cockpit or near the pulpit (boy talk), including both male and female contributions.

Therefore (finally) the proper name for this boat finally hit me.

1) Name must represent the sailboat.
2) Name must represent the age of the boat.
3) Name must represent our taste in music/humor.
4) Name must represent our treatment of Guests and Crew.
5) Name must be in English.
6) Name needs to exude positive impression.
7) Name needs to be saleable, when explained.
8) Name needs to be spellable.
9) Name needs to be pronounced to VHF 16 (if needed).
10) Name needs to be agreed upon between Captain and Admiral.

I think we finally nailed it, especially when presented to the Admiral, she exclaimed....

I got you babe!!!

Thanks Kermie, the Admiral thinks she loves you. Your posts inspire and amuse, and yes she reads these posts too. I agree she and I have a groovy kind of love, and the S&C song is awesome. We update our love songs periodically, and this is our newest favorite after the Fourth of July overnighter aboard. It's all about growing older together and sharing moments. Couldn't resist:
