What Modifications have you made?

While I spent a fair bit of time in my Captain's Berth (Quarter Berth) last week with my Battery Charger change and relocation, I had plenty of time to admire the ADDITIONAL opening port that the previous owner had installed.
This UPGRADE adds an amazing amount of light and ventilation to the darkest, and most air stagnant portion of our cabin.

which lead me to the question, What modifications or upgrades have you made to your Oday, that you think make it special, unique, etc....???

and YES! I know the is a special section of SBO dedicated to this subject, HOWEVER for the 28's there are ZERO entries,, for 272 there are MINUS 1, how is that possible,, anyway,
I offer my additional opening port as my entry!

Cheers,
Coyote

Thanks for posting this, it's great stuff! I do want to add that the number of entries in the mods section stays at zero when people post their work in the forum.

Also, the chances of finding this mod later, when someone really needs it, is much lower in a forum search.

Don't get me wrong, we love documented mods any way we can get them but you could also post it to the mods section and get the ball rolling. ;)

Thank you sir!!!

and an opportunity to Thank You and your team for providing an EXCEPTIONAL RESOURCE to an appreciative community,,,
I mention your site(s) to EVERY owner I discuss upgrades and modifications with, and in all honesty, would probably NOT purchase a sailboat, that did not have an active forum for support and knowledge,,

as suggested, article submitted for your approval under Owner Modifications,,

cheers,
Coyote

all I can find is "search owner modifications"... Im not sure where to find the link for posting to it, or browsing...

so what if I want to browse the modifcations?.... maybe by boat brand or length of boat rather than by owner, is there a way to do that or do I need to search for a particular owner to see only his work?...

Adding those opening ports to 'aft staterooms' on smaller boat does indeed at a lot of light and ventilation. Nice mod!

I find it interesting that they installed it in-side out. Those latching dogs look like they are just dying to get kicked and snapped off!

Actually, never an issue with regard to the latches,,,
with the cockpit cushions in place, you clear the cushion, you clear the latch,,,
they probably could have installed smaller dogs, the window really has no real exposure to waves and weather,,
it makes a huge difference with regard to light and air circulation,

cheers,
Coyote

Centerline:

since no one else has clarified this for you. I'll give it a shot --
If you click on "Boat Info", below the main header,,"OdayOwners.com"
then go to "Owner Modifications", then pick a boat size or model, click on that specific boat, then at the top of that section, you will see "Submit an Article", on whatever model you selected -- pretty straight forward,
and I imagine it's the same for each SBO Owners Group,,

hope that helps,
cheers,

Great!!!!

Hey TC:

your updates and modifications look great!! good job,,,

I'd suggest, as Phil suggested in an earlier post on this subject, that you submit them to be listed on the "Owner Modification" page for the OD 28,, as I did,,,
one of mine is currently listed, and I submitted another 3 for his consideration and approval,,,
that entire section is an outstanding resource for owners looking for
information and inspiration!!

cheers,
Coyote
