It sounds to me like you have the well-named "Oday 23".
I believe Oday only made two boats that were 23' long on deck: the Oday 23 (three different models), and the Oday Tempest. All of the Oday 23's have a stub keel/centerboard configuration. One model had a pop-top cabin, and I believe that all of the early '70's models had the centerboard control cable led to the salon table stanchion. The Tempest was a much more traditionally styled boat, with a short cabin, long cockpit and fin keel. An outboard engine fit in the lazarette. You can check on this site or the I Heart Odays website, but I think the Tempest was made only through the '60's; so if you know your boat is a 1973, it is almost surely an Oday 23.
