What is the black tank in the lazarette of a Pearson 27

I realize the water tank is in the bow, the diesel tank is in the aft cabin along with the holding tank.

There is a black tank/barrel shaped object in the lazarette. What is this?

Bladder tank for your pressurized potable water system(if you have one) Is my guess, since you don't provide a picture.

Probably the hot water heater. Pearson 27 has a 6 gallon hot water heater.

I would go with bladder tank for pressure water. In my 32, in the port lazarette is both the hot water heater (which can be fired up via shore AC or the hot coolant circuit running from the iron genny), and the water presume pump and associated black bladder tank, mounted vertically. Hope this helps.

I also have a Pearson 27 1987 and the black tank is the Raritan 6 gallons water heater.
