Own a 1984 C27 with a universal m18 engine. Inside the engine compartment clipped in a corner a 2"x6" cylinder . fuel line goes in then out. Is it a fuel pump, or another filter? There is a fuel filter mounted on engine, is this the only one?
Rick, I have the same boat and engine. If you are looking at the engine compartment, facing aft, looking at the upper left hand corner, I have an electric fuel pump and a Racor fuel filter/water separator. The dimensions you give (6X2) sounds like the the fuel pump. Turn on the ignition and see if it ticks. If not, its probably the fuel filter water separator. If its the same as mine, I think the part number was Racor R-12-S. --Greg
