I am interested in a used Catalina 30. What does it mean when I see the listings or specs that say "with bow"...ie Catalina 30 with bow or Tall rig with bow? Does that mean if listing doesnt say "with bow" that it is somehow different? I hope this is not a dumb question for you veteran Catalina owners! Thanks

It can only mean "with bow sprit" - and that the copy writer is a bit dim
. Catalina 30's have 2 hull configurations, 2 mast heights, and an optional bow sprit. So, "TRBS" means "tall rig w/bow sprit," "SRBS" means standard rig w/bow sprit," "TR" or "SR" means tall or standard rig w/out a sprit. "Fin" or "SD" would mean either the (deeper) fin keel or the "shoal draft" keel. Kinda like reading the personals - or so I'm told BTW, many of the "TR"s will have sprits, but very few of the standard rigs have them.
