Very nice, good project for everyone up north between snow storms. I like the small detail items. What kind of anchor are you going with?

great detail.
when I saw the first photo, I thought it was an actual boat.... and as I looked I said, " man, thats a crazy heavy duty ladder", and then, "dang, this guy has a boat stand in his yard that takes as much maintenance as his boat does" .....
nice job.

Its a dream of mine that someday I can get bored enough to find the time to put some of my ideas into motion:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:.....
Thanks Cenerline, you're not the first one to be fooled by the pictures. I honestly didn't intend to get into that level of detail when I started the project, I'd be at work thinking about it and suddenly, I'd have an idea how to add another detail to it and it all just kind of added up. As long as I have time, some wood in the shop and an idea, I'm never bored. When I created my profile after buying the boat, I think I'm quoted as saying I'd enjoy working/improving her as much as sailing.

Dang it man....it could be done! Don't know how good I'd be at coiling those tiny halyards up with my fumbly fingers though
Very nice job ! :D

When I was a kid my dad did a scratch built Hindenberg Airship model, because one wasn't available.
Witnessing the countless hours he spent building that, gave me a serious respect for people who scratch build detailed models. It's takes skill, problem solving, and a lot of time and patience. Awesome job.

P.S. Any idea of how many hours you have invested, and a cost of materials ?
Thank you L.R.. I would estimate the costs at somewhere between $75-100 in lumber, paint, metal stock, etc.. It's like the real boat if I kept track of costs, I'd lose heart. As far as time goes, I have no idea how many hours went into her construction, some days I could go for several hours, other days, just a few minutes or so. I tried to shoot for doing "something" on every work day regardless of how small, it's the only way I'm ever able to move a project forward because it's hard to start up once you stop.

beauty, How many models until they fill your lake again ?
They usually start letting the lake level back up around the end of February here and the Striped Bass and Hybrids start running in the river here so I'll be doing other things till the boat ramp gets safe to use again.
