Wet Exhaust Hose Leaking/Replacement

I have a 1990 Catalina 30' with a leaky wet exhaust hose. The hose appears brittle in some of the visisble spots and shows evidence of leaking. I would like to replace it. It runs from the muffler box (?) in the engine compartment below the sink and goes through a hole in the cabinet below the sink on the port side forward of the stove. It disappears behind the stove and reappears in the port side lazeret in the cockpit. From there it travels around the port side to the transom where it is connected for overboard discharge. My problem is the area behind the stove appears inaccesible and I do not know if the hose is "clamped tightly" in this area. I was thinking of tying a pull rope to the existing exhaust hose and pulling it through the troubled area. Then, tying the pull rope to the new exhaust hose and pulling it place in with the pull rope through this troubled area. Has anyone had experience with this and are there any other unforseen problems in the area behind the stove? Also, any ideas on how long this hose is? Hopefully, I do not have to cut a access hole behind the stove. Thanks in advance for any advise or related experiences.

It shouldn't be too hard

Catalina will have the pre-bent hose in stock, just give them a call. As for installing it, I don't think it'll be too difficult. You may need to remove the galley sink assembly, but that's not too difficult to do. Check out this link: http://www.catalina30.com/TechLib/PartsManual/Engine.pdf --Allen

Wet Exhaust Hose

David I replaced the hose in my Cat 30 last year. I had already removed the galley part with sinks etc. easy to do and allows much better access and working space. I also found that by removing the two larger drawer unit located in the galley on port side of the companion way it gave me access to reach in and pull the hose through. Four screws and the unit comes right out. Cliff Carter PlusOne 77 Cat #598

Thanks!

Cliff & Allen, Thanks! I was able to confirm that the hose exits the the galley sink and "loops" aft "under" the stove and back up into the port side cockpit locker. It is not strapped in as I had feared behind the stove but laying below the stove with other hoses and wiring. The web site Allen gave was for the older Atomic 4 and Universal #5411. Not a lot of detail on routing but did confirm 1-5/8" wire reinforced wet exhaust hose approximately 22 feet long. I should be able to pull it through with a pull string and repull the new hose in behind it with the pull string.
