Westerbeke 10-2 engine

How does a Westerbeke 10-2 diesel get combustion air? I don't see an air filter. The engine is on my 272LE.

My diesel doesn't have an air filter either. It does have a intake silencer where the air enter the engine. I figured that boats don't operate in dusty environments so the manufacturer didn't see the need for a filter.

I have one also. Westerbeke has determined this engine does not need an air filter. Go figure. The silencer does not need seasonal replacement. Hope that helps.

Yup, no filter.. Was surprised to learn that on my 272LE as well..
